Upgrade to SIP platform using R series

    If you are using an R series phone, such as R-130, R-160, and having IP phone number starting from 68, here are the steps to transfer to SIP system.

1. Please write to supports@talkpro.net to get new SIP account. Tell us your current IP phone number, password and model of you phone.

2. Upgrade the phone's firmware.

Solution 1: Online upgrade

1) Press the menu keys in order:

set/ok - down - down - set/ok - down.

You should see "Upgrade Now" on the screen of the phone. Press set/ok twice to perform online upgrade. Wait until the phone restart by itself.

2) Use the keys to input new SIP account's user name, password and phone number or use a computer's internet browser to input account. To get the phone's IP address, just press ESC key.

Solution 2: Manual upgrade

Before you start, we want you know it will need computer knowledge. Be sure you understand each step.

1) Use a computer to download software tool package here. Save to a directory you can find later. The package is a compressed file. Use any unzip tool to extract the files.

2) Press ESC key on your R phone, write down the IP address.

3) Change your phone network setting from DHCP to local IP.

     a. Press OK twice to get to setting of TCP/IP.

     b. Press OK and 0 and then OK again.

     c. Press ESC twice, you will be prompt "Save change". Press OK. The phone will restart.

4) Power off the phone, then press and hold * button and power on again. The phone will start in "Diagnose Mode".

5) Run Tools_en.exe.  Input your TalkPro phone ip address in the box. Then click "Test".

6) Click step 1, select upgrade firmware. Currently it should be KE_SIP_V4.33.09_2006.4.13.bin. The file is in the same directory. Choose the file and click "open". The tool should now start upload the file to the phone. Wait until the phone restart.

7) Configure the phone with new SIP account. You can use keypad or computer to input new user name, password and phone number.
